DANVILLE, Va. – It took several hours, but Danville Police reopened the exit ramp off of the Danville Expressway shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Crews were forced to close the ramp following a tractor-trailer fire and fuel spill. The driver was hauling cars when one caught fire, blocking the northbound ramp of the Expressway to River Park.

The fire and subsequent clean-up caused delays along parts of the Expressway as well as sections to Dan Daniel Park.

There were no injuries.
