(Pittsylvania County, Va.) – Family members have identified the man killed in a farm accident in Dry Fork Monday as Robert “Bob” Pollock of Dry Fork.
Pollock was well known in the community and was a teacher at Tunstall High School for more than three decades. He was also active in the Future Farmers of America.
Investigators say Pollock was using a chain saw and was cutting a tree Monday afternoon when a portion of the tree fell back on him. He died at the scene.
Pollock’s former students plan to hold a memorial service for him at some point in the future.
Robert Pollock was 73.
