(Halifax County, Va.) – A Clover man has been indicted for attempted murder following an incident in which police say he used his car to ram a man standing in the doorway of a home.

Jacob A. Taylor was arrested following the December 18 incident in the Scottsburg community.

Taylor is now charged with the attempted murder of Zachary Seamster and with one count of malicious wounding.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for a disturbance at a home on MacDonald Road. They arrived to find Taylor’s vehicle had struck a Seamster as he stood in front of the house.

Halifax County rescue were called and Seamster was airlifted to Duke Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Taylor was charged initially with aggravated assault.
