(Danville, Va.) – Danville Police are investigating a double shooting that left one man dead.

Officers were called to 615 Gay Street around 3:30 Sunday afternoon after receiving a disturbance call. On arrival, they found two gunshot victims. One person was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was transported to the emergency room of Sovah Health by the Danville Life Saving Crew.

Authorities are handling the case as a homicide.

No names are being released at this time pending notification of next of kin. Police have said only that the victim was male.

Officers obtained a search warrant to enter the homes where the shootings took place.
