(Danville, Va.) – Danville Police have identified the man who was shot and killed at a home on Gay Street Sunday as 29-year-old Robert Albert Irvin of Danville. Irvin was found dead of gunshot wounds inside 615 Gay Street at around 3:30 Sunday afternoon.

Outside the home, police discovered another man who had been wounded. The 54-year-old Danville resident was taken by ambulance to SOVAH Health, where he is undergoing treatment for multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. His name was not released.
Police, fire and rescue responded to a disturbance call and found the two shooting victims.

Authorities said Sunday that the scene was “secure” and they were not searching for a shooter.
Irvin’s body is being taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke for an autopsy.

Police are continuing their investigation into the shootings.
