(Martinsville, Va.) – A Martinsville woman has been jailed in the stabbing death of her boyfriend.

31-year-old Katelia Shavon Beal is being held in the Martinsville City Jail, charged with murder in Sunday’s death of 29-year-old Michael Antonio Lightfoot.

Martinsville Police were called to SOVAH Health Martinsville early Sunday morning. Lightfoot had been taken to the emergency room by private vehicle and died a short time after arrival.

Investigators say the stabbing stemmed from a domestic dispute in the apartment the couple shared in the 900 block of Blankenship Road.

Beal has been charged with second-degree murder and being held in the Martinsville City Jail, without bond.
