(Danville, Va.) – A Wednesday afternoon fire gutted a trailer on Cardwell Street.

Trucks responded to 96 Cardwell just after 2 p.m. and found the singlewide fully involved.

The fire was knocked down in about fifteen minutes but the mobile home and its contents were destroyed.

No one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

The fire started in some unattended cooking on the stove and firefighters were on the scene for about 90 minutes.

The American Red Cross is assisting the occupant.
