(Danville, Va.) – While traffic continues to move slowly, streets in Danville are snow-covered and slick and Virginia State Police caution that conditions will deteriorate as the temperature falls later tonight.
Snow plows were clearing Rt. 58 between South Boston and Danville late Saturday night but heavy snowfall was covering the highway almost as soon as the plows made a pass over the pavement.
Main Street in Danville was slick by 11:30 and few motorists were venturing out.

Beginning at 7 p.m., Saturday, VSP responded to an overturned-tractor trailer crash in the southbound lanes of I-81 at the 67 mile marker in Wythe County. Roughly 5 minutes later, a second crash occurred in the northbound lanes of I-81 at the 67 mile marker – this crash involved a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle. No injuries have been reported in either crash.

• Slow your speed for conditions and remain alert for emergency vehicles working alongside the interstates.

• Avoid distractions while driving.

• Be sure to clear all snow from every window on your vehicle.
