(Pittsylvania County, Va.) – Two men were taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a utility pole at the end of a high speed chase in Pittsylvania County Tuesday evening.
According to the Danville Register and Bee, it started just before 7 p.m. when a state trooper attempted to pull over a BMW on the Franklin Turnpike. The driver sped off and a chase ensued.
The pursuit ended when the car crashed into a utility pole on Iris Lane.
The driver, identified as Anthony J. Wilson, of Blairs, got out of the car and ran into the woods. He was arrested a short time later and taken to SOVAH Health Danville for injuries suffered in the wreck.
Rescue crews spent the next two hours cutting his passenger, Isaiah Boyd, out of the wreckage. Boyd was taken by helicopter from the scene to an unknown hospital.
