(Rockingham County, N.C.) — The man who reported problems with the prosecutor in Rockingham County, N.C. has now been named to the post.

Gov. Roy Cooper has appointed Jason Ramey as interim district attorney, allowing former interim Tom Keith to leave the position he accepted more than a year ago. The 32-year-old Ramey is also running as a Republican for the seat in this year’s election.

Former District Attorney Craig Blitzer resigned in March of last year following a year-long criminal investigation of his office.

Ramey began work as a prosecutor in 2012. He joined the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office under former district attorney Phil Berger Jr.

Ramey currently works as an Assistant District Attorney, prosecuting cases in juvenile, district, and superior courts.
