(Rockingham County, N.C.) — Police have identified the man who was shot by a Reidsville Police Officer Thursday night.
Investigators say Londre Daveairre Bernstein, 24, was released from the hospital and taken into custody by Reidsville Police Department.
An officer tried to pull the suspect over and the suspect jumped out of the car and ran. The officer chased him and during an altercation Berstein suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
He was charged with driving while license revoked, felony fleeing to elude, hit and run, and displaying a fictitious license plate. Bernstein also has warrants outstanding in Caswell County, where he’s wanted for trespassing and resisting arrest.
Bernstein was placed under a $205,000 bond in the Rockingham County Detention Center.
