Update: The Danville Fire Marshal’s Office conducted an investigation into the cause of the fire located at 180 Lamberth Drive and has ruled this was a case of arson. The cause was determined to be incendiary. (Danville, Va.) – Danville firefighters kept a large brush fire from spreading, although an abandoned mobile home was consumed by flames.

Firefighters responded to the brush fire at 180 Lamberth Drive about 11:00 Thursday night. The first unit arrived to find a single-wide trailer heavily involved in fire. The trailer was abandoned and was in the process of being demolished.

A dirt road prevented other engines from accessing the site but firefighters used a brush truck and a tanker to supply water to Engine 6.

15 firefighters were on the scene for nearly two hours.

Firefighters were assisted by the Danville Police Department and the Danville Life Saving Crew.
