(Danville, Va.) – Danville Police have identified the man they believe was responsible for a burglary and an attempted bank robbery earlier in the week.
Authorities are looking for 30-year-old Nicholas Lamar James of Danville. He is the suspect in the May 15 burglary at the ABC store on North Union Street and the attempted robbery of Carter Bank & Trust on Westover Drive later that same day. Police say he handed the teller a note demanding cash but left without getting any money.
Danville Police say they found the escape vehicle, a black Honda Accord, and identified James as the suspect in both crimes. According to a Facebook post from the City of Danville “James was identified as a direct result of the public response to (a) social media post.”
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to phone 911 or Danville Crime Stoppers.
