VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — The WBTM News Department was recognized for outstanding coverage by the Virginia Association of Broadcasters at the group’s annual awards banquet on Friday.

The station received the VAB’s first place trophy for Best Human Interest Series for team coverage of Tropical Storm Michael and the clean-up that followed.

WBTM also received a second place award for Best Feature Reporting.

The awards were presented at the VAB’s 82nd Annual Summer Convention at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel.
