WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine Have have announced nearly $1.9 million in federal funding for the A.L. Philpott Manufacturing Extension Partnership in Martinsville, also known as GENEDGE. The grant will support the organization’s efforts to meet the evolving needs of manufacturing in Virginia by helping small and mid-sized businesses develop new products and customers, expand into global markets, adopt new technology, and support domestic production efforts.

Warner and Kaine called the grant “an important investment in Virginia’s manufacturing industry” in support of “the growth of good jobs and expansion of business in Virginia.”

The program aims to strengthen U.S. manufacturing. GENEDGE has worked with nearly 80,000 manufacturers, creating thousands of jobs and leading to $88 billion in sales.
