(Ringgold, VA) – A woman was struck and killed by a passing vehicle just after 10 o’clock Saturday Night.  The accident occurred on Mountain Hill Rd in the Ringgold Community.

The Virginia State Police have identified the victim as Geraldine Rigney Goins, 79, of Ringgold.  Authorities believe Goins was crossing Mountain Hill Road from a private drive and was struck by the car which was traveling south.

The investigation is still ongoing.
