DANVILLE, Va. – A Danville-based health clinic is among 21 across Virginia that will share millions of dollars of federal funding to help combat the addiction crisis. Piedmont Access to Health Services, or PATHS of Danville, will receive $167,000.
U.S. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine announced on Tuesday that the state would receive over $3.4 million from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The money will be divided between health care facilities across Virginia.
The senators said with many communities across the Commonwealth affected by substance abuse, the funds “will help ensure that these clinics can continue to provide lifesaving treatment for addiction.”
Another Southside clinic, the Martinsville Henry County Coalition for Health and Wellness, was also awarded $167,000.
