HENRY COUNTY, Va. – The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an infant was left inside a hot car for less than 10 minutes at a Walmart.
Police received a 911 call came just after 11:30 Monday morning for a report of the child being left inside the car at the Walmart on 976 Commonwealth Blvd. When deputies arrived five minutes later, someone had already broken the window of the car and taken the infant inside the store.
Officials say the child was not injured and was checked out by emergency medical responders.
Deputies obtained surveillance video from the store security cameras. After reviewing the video, it was determined the child was left in the car with the engine off for less than 10 minutes.
There’s no word on possible charges.
