(Blairs, VA) – Just after 6:30 Wednesday morning first responders were called to an accident on US 29 South just past the intersection with R&L Smith Rd (VA 863) between a vehicle and a tractor.

The tractor driven by 20-year-old Evany Morillon of Blairs, was preparing to make a left turn onto a private drive when he was hit was struck by a white Toyota Tacoma driven by 44-year-old Philip Hutson of Chatham.  Hutson who was not wearing his seatbelt was killed in the crash.

Morillion was unhurt in the incident and his tractor according to authorities had all of its proper lights and signs displayed and working.  Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
