DANVILLE, Va. – A 30-year-old Danville man waived a jury trial Monday and entered guilty pleas to two murders in 2017.
Dana Miguel Keith was convicted on three counts of capital murder, four counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony and two counts of robbery in connection with the June 1, 2017 murders of 21-year-old Breai Martonia Edmunds and 20-year-old Damarcus Daron Whitehead.
Edmunds and Whitehead were found dead inside a car at the intersection of Arnett Boulevard and Glendale Avenue following a party at the Woodside Apartments. The state medical examiner determined that both died of single gunshot wounds to the head. Keith was arrested in October 2017.
Two weeks had been set aside for the jury trial but Keith opted to enter guilty pleas at the outset of his trial in Danville Circuit Court.
Keith will be sentenced on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
