PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – Pittsylvania County authorities are looking for a man wearing a red bandana who robbed a bank on the Martinsville Highway Monday afternoon.

Deputies were called to the Virginia Bank and Trust on Highway 58 around 12:15 p.m. after a man entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller. He did not display a weapon and fled after taking an undisclosed amount of money.

The robber is described as a white male, approximately 5-foot-7, of medium build. At the time of the hold-up he was wearing camouflage pants, a blue hoodie, sneakers, blue latex gloves, and had a red bandanna covering his mouth.

Two Pittsylvania County schools were placed under lockdown Monday afternoon as police searched for the robber, who was last seen headed east on foot along the Martinsville Highway.
