GREENSBORO, N.C. – A child found abandoned on the doorstep of a Greensboro home is fine and police believe they have found the baby’s mother.
The infant, who is just a few months old, was discovered in the 900 block of Benjamin Benson Street in Greensboro at about 1:45 Sunday morning.
Someone called 911 after finding the baby alone in front of their home. The infant was taken to a hospital to be evaluated and appears to be unharmed.
The infant is now in the custody of NC Child Protective Services, according to police.
While a police spokesman said authorities believe they have located the mother, no charges have been filed in the case as police are continuing their investigation.
