FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – A car belonging to a Franklin County murder suspect has been recovered in South Carolina, but there’s still no sign of 22-year-old Michael Alexander Brown.
Police say Brown’s vehicle was found abandoned in South Carolina Wednesday.
Brown is wanted for killing his mother’s boyfriend at their home in the Hardy community. 54-year-old Rodney Brown was found dead of gunshot wounds just before noon Saturday.
Investigators had concentrated their search in Virginia and in Craven County, North Carolina, where Brown was stationed as a Marine until he left his post on October 18.
Sheriff’s deputies still say they have no clear motive in the slaying.
