PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – A 26-year-old who was shot in AltaVista was found dead on private property in Pittsylvania County.

According to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened Monday on River Bend Road.

The caller said the victim was shot during an argument but had no information on his condition or location.

26-year-old Christopher James Tench of Lynchburg was later found dead in Pittsylvania County. Investigators say he died of a gunshot wound.

Tench’s body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Roanoke for an autopsy.

At last report, no arrests had been made.
