PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police have identified the person killed in a Monday night wreck in Pittsylvania County as 62-year-old James Alexander Piller of Axton.
The trooper who investigated said Piller died at the scene of the single-vehicle crash, which happened on F.C. Beverly Road in the Dry Fork community.
According to Virginia State Police Sergeant R. Garletts, the accident occurred one-tenth of a mile west of Whitmell School Road.
Piller was driving a 2008 Toyota Corolla and was westbound on F.C. Beverly Road when his car ran off the road on the right side, crossed the roadway, and struck a utility pole.
The crash remains under investigation.
