ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. – Rockingham County authorities have charged a Danville woman with murder in the death of her three-month-old son.
30-year-old Shantiequa Renea Woods of 5 Garland Street in Danville is charged with first-degree murder and felony child abuse in the death of her son, Isaiah Woods.
According to investigators, the baby was taken to Sovah Health Danville Thursday night, where he died as a result of his injuries.
Rockingham County Sheriff’s Investigators believe the infant sustained blunt force trauma to his head and torso area. It is believed the infant sustained these injuries while he and his mother were staying at 161 Aberdeen Rd. Ruffin, N.C. on Thursday, Feb. 20th.
Shantiequa Renea Woods is being held in the Rockingham County Jail without bond.
