REIDSVILLE, N.C. – A Reidsville man has been jailed and charged with the weekend murder of his brother.

Reidsville police officers responded to the 500 block of Warriner Street Saturday morning to investigate a shooting; they found Derris Watlington, of Reidsville, with a gunshot wound. Watlington was taken to Annie Penn Hospital, where he died.

Later that night, his brother surrendered to police. 23-year-old Curtis Watlington is charged with second-degree murder and is being held in jail without bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday, March 2.

Investigators have not given a motive in the slaying.
