CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Va. – A Danville man has been charged with DUI-manslaughter in a fatal crash in Charlotte County, Va.

The accident happened April 4 at 1:05 a.m. on Route 360, less than a mile west of Route 710.

According to Virginia State police, a 2006 Toyota Camry was traveling west on Route 360 at a high rate of speed when it ran off the left side of the road. The driver over-corrected, which caused the car to run off the right side of the road The car struck an embankment and overturned.

The driver, 38-year-old Tommy Marshall Williams of Danville, suffered minor injuries in the crash and was treated and released from Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.
There were three passengers in the vehicle. One of the passengers, Sean Blake Jackson Thompson, 25, of South Hill, Va, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene. Two female passengers were flown to VCU Medical Center in Richmond for treatment of serious injuries. One female has been treated and released; the other female is still a patient at the Richmond hospital.
Williams was arrested on Thursday and charged with DUI-Manslaughter, 2 counts of DUI-Maiming and for one felony count of driving on a revoked license due to a prior DUI. He is being held without bond at the Charlotte County Jail.
