DANVILLE, Va. – Two people have been charged in a fatal motorcycle accident in Danville.

30-year-old Bobby J. Collins of Danville died in a Friday night accident on the Piney Forest Road after witnesses reported that the biker appeared to be racing with a Chevy Camaro when his motorcycle struck the curb. Collins was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead at Sovah Health Danville.

After questioning the driver and passenger in the Camaro, Danville Police charged 20-year-old Marco N. Escobal Rocha with “causing the death of another while engaging in a race.”

His passenger, 20-year-old Karissa A. Dix, is charged with of obstruction of justice.

Both live in Danville and were released after posting bond.

The accident happened about 7:40 p.m. Friday in the 3300 block of North Main Street near the Squire Armory.
