HENRY COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police have identified the woman who was murdered in her home earlier this week as 63-year-old Pamela S. Morse of Henry County.

Morse was found dead inside the 1300 Wingfield Orchard Road home by her husband when he returned home at about 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The remains have been sent to the Virginia Office of the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of her death.

Media reports say Morse was shot and the sheriff’s office is carrying her death as a homicide.

A red Jeep Compass that was taken from the crime scene was later recovered in Franklin County.
