busted-pipe

DANVILLE, Va. – Union Street Bridge reopened Thursday after crews completed repaving work along a section of asphalt damaged when a water main burst Tuesday afternoon.

Danville Public Works crews spent the day Wednesday replacing the ruptured pipe. That work continued overnight, as another crew backfilled the hole at the south end of the span along Memorial Drive.

Paving work was completed and the bridge reopened Thursday afternoon.
