CHATHAM , Va. – The VCU Massey Cancer Center and partnering organizations distributed food to hundreds of families in Pittsylvania County this week through the Olde Dominion Agricultural Center in Chatham.
More than 1,600 boxes and grocery bags filled with non-perishable food items were given to churches, schools, families and individuals.
The program was made possible though funding provided by the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region and the Presbytery of the Peaks.
Volunteers from the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region, Averett University and the United Way helped with the three-day distribution.
