TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – President Donald Trump says not to buy Goodyear Tires after a slide showing a ban on MAGA apparel was leaked from a company diversity training session. Now the company says their corporate office didn’t make the slide.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday urging his followers to not buy Goodyear Tires due to a ban on his Make America Great Again apparel inside their factories.

The president’s tweet comes after reports that MAGA attire is not acceptable as part of their new zero-tolerance policy.

An employee at Goodyear told WIBW 13 NEWS the new policy is discriminatory because Black Lives Matters and LGBTQ clothing is allowed, but Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, and MAGA attire is not.

The slide was presented by an area manager in Topeka, Kansas and reportedly came from the corporate office in Akron, Ohio.

After seeing the image Wednesday morning, President Donald Trump tweeted “Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES – They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS.”

Goodyear issued a statement and said employees are asked not to engage in any kind of political campaigning in the workplace, in order to create an inclusive and respectful environment.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden also weighed in on Trump’s tweet.

“Goodyear employs thousands of American workers, including in Ohio where it is headquartered. To President Trump, those workers and their jobs aren’t a source of pride, just collateral damage in yet another one of his political attacks.”
