FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – A trustee who ran from a Franklin County work detail has been recaptured and now faces a felony escape charge.
Sheriff’s deputies and Rocky Mount Police recaptured 35-year-old Curtis Sparks on Sunday, a day after he ran away from a group of trustee inmates who were attending a program at the sheriff’s office complex.
Sparks was located on Power Dam Road in Franklin County around 6 p.m. Sunday. Authorities say he was arrested without incident and now faces a felony escape charge.
According to the sheriff’s office, Sparks was serving a sentence as a non-violent offender.
