DANVILLE, Va. – Danville Sheriff Mike Mondul now says that 73 inmates and ten jail employees have tested positive for COVID-19.
The cumulative numbers were released just before noon Thursday and reflect the results of tests conducted by the Health Department on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
136 inmates and three jail employees tested negative for the coronavirus.
Mondul reported “no serious illnesses among inmates or staff.”
The jail recorded its first positive case one week ago.
