Danville, Va. – Firefighters were called to a structure fire at an apartment complex on West Main Street Friday night.

The call was received about 8:30 p.m. Units were dispatched to the 2900 block of West Main, the former Mayfield Apartments near Danville Distributing Co. and Davenport Energy.

Heavy fire was visible from the top floor of the apartment complex when the first units arrived.

Three engines and a ladder truck responded. The fire was brought under control quickly and firefighters are dousing hot spots.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The cause has not been determined.
