DANVILLE, Va. – A 59-year-old man ran all the way from Danville to Richmond to raise money for children in need.

Steve Scott of Danville said his employer, Cobb Technologies, sponsored the journey. He also had a police escort every step of the way.

Scott tells WIRC 8 that crossing the finish line in Richmond was a major accomplishment. The 168-mile journey took five days to complete.

The run raised more than $20,000.
