HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A body found over the weekend could be that of Henry County woman who has been missing for more than four months.
The discovery was made Sunday after a vehicle was found down an embankment. Inside, authorities found a body that family members believe is Jeneen Lavita Jamison Valentine, a Ridgeway woman who has been missing since July 3.
According to the Martinsville Bulletin, Henry County Sheriff Lane Perry said the vehicle and body were located in the Chestnut Knob area of Henry County and are related to a missing-person case now under investigation.
Valentine’s brother said in a social media post that he was notified by the sheriff’s office that investigators had located the vehicle his sister was driving at the time of her disappearance.
The 58-year-old Valentine was last seen when she left her mother’s house on July 3. She never showed up for a cookout there the following day.
Sheriff’s investigators had been looking for Valentine since she was reported missing on July 16.
