MARTINSVILLE, Va. – A man wanted in a brutal stabbing in Martinsville was taken into custody on Friday.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office had been searching for Willie Lee Turner following a domestic assault involving a mother and her two children that happened a day earlier at 85 Willow Court in Martinsville. A female victim identified as Turner’s fiance suffered multiple stab wounds to her head, torso and arms and was airlifted to a Roanoke hospital.
According to investigators, Turner began to assault the woman and her two children — ages 9 and 24 – in an argument over use of her car. Police say Turner grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the woman multiple times before fleeing in her car.
A day later, a deputy spotted the vehicle on Old Liberty Drive. He stopped the car and Turner was taken into custody without incident.
