HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. – A small, private plane made an emergency landing on a Halifax County Road Sunday after experiencing engine difficulties.
At 4:19 p.m. Sunday, Virginia State Police responded to the 5100 block of Halifax Road in South Boston. According to investigators, the pilot was forced to land due to a problem with a fuel pump. The pilot was not injured.
The aircraft was moved to a nearby parking lot and the Federal Aviation Administration was notified.
A mailbox was struck, but not damaged.
