HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A man reportedly confronted Henry County deputies with a rifle before barricading himself inside his home Tuesday. It happened shortly before noon on Henry St. in Stanleyton.
Authorities had warrants for 35-year-old Tommy Joe Strothers, Jr. Deputies attempted to make contact with Strothers, but he ran inside the house and refused to surrender.
Negotiations continued for several hours before a search warrant was obtained and a tactical unit entered the home, where Strothers was found hiding in the attic.
He was arrested on several felony and misdemeanor charges and is being held in the Henry County Jail without bond.
