(Danville, VA) – Update as of 6:00AM, According to a press release from the Danville Fire Department the fire was confined to the front door area of the building and only smoke made it inside the structure.  Some siding was cut away to extinguish flames on the outside of the building.  The Fire Marshall’s office has confirmed the fire was set intentionally.  An investigation is ongoing.

Original Story – The Danville Fire Department was called out to Robertson Street for reports of a structure fire Tuesday Morning.  The call came in around 3:15 am.  The building is owned by Averett University and is being utilized as the Telecounseling Center.

Fire crews got the fire knocked down quickly.  There were no injuries reported and the Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
