MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Two Martinsville area men face murder and malicious wounding charges after an argument escalated at a Mexican restaurant, leaving two people dead. Two other men suffered serious gunshot wounds and are still undergoing treatment at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Virginia State Police said 24-year-old Jamal Jenkins of Collinsville has been charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, willful discharge of a firearm in a public place resulting in death.

20-year-old Rosario Eggleston of Martinsville has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding, conspiracy to commit aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and willful discharge of a firearm in a public place resulting in death.

Virginia State Police say the two men who died in the melee were 23-year-old Keilo Anton Martin and Shavon Lamont Reid, 33, both of Martinsville. Both Martin and Reid were dead when Martinsville Police arrived at the scene.

The shootings happened in the bar area of El Norteno Restaurant at around 10:30 Friday night. The argument spilled over into the parking lot as two armed men fired shots at a third individual. An officer on patrol heard the shots and sped to the scene, shooting one of the gunmen.
