DANVILLE, Va. – While temperatures held at or above freezing and Danville saw just rain Friday night, that could change Saturday night and into the early morning hours Sunday.
The Danville area remains under a Winter Storm Warning through noon Sunday, with some icing still possible.
Ice accumulations on trees and power lines could result in downed trees and power lines and power outages.
Bridges and overpasses also will be affected, especially to the north of Danville. Lesser accumulations are expected on road and highway surfaces.
Danville Public Works crews are working Saturday to treat bridges and overpasses. Utilities crews will be on standby.
The area could receive additional freezing rain and freezing drizzle on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, but with lesser icing.
