DANVILLE, Va. – A Danville Utilities lineman was injured Tuesday morning on Sugartree Church Road in Pittsylvania County. The injury occurred while restoring power to a customer who had lost service this weekend.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m., said Jason Grey, director of utilities.

The worker suffered burns, but the extent is not known at this point. The worker was responsive and communicating with emergency responders. He was airlifted to a trauma center.

Brosville Volunteer Fire and EMS responded to the incident.
