DANVIILLE, Va. – A man who left his Danville home more than six months ago and never returned may be alive and well in Oklahoma.
Danville police said they have received reliable information indicating that Herman Harston traveled on his own to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in September 2020 and was in good health at that time.
The local police department is working with Oklahoma City community members as they continue to search for the 75-year-old.
Harston was first reported missing by family members on February 19. They said at the time that he left home to go to the store last August but never returned. They also indicated that it was not unusual for Harston to be gone for a month at a time.
Virginia State Police were notified and a Senior Alert was issued for Harston, who has been treated in the past for a mental illness. He also suffers from some physical limitations.
