PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – A Danville woman died in a two-car, head-on crash in Pittsylvania County.
Virginia State Police investigated the wreck, which happened just before 3 p.m. Tuesday on Honey Road, just south of Golf Club Road.
A Mazda CX-9 was traveling south on Honey Road driving left of center when the vehicle struck another car head-on.
The Mazda was driven by 40-year-old Amanda G. Lewis of Danville. Lewis was treated at Sovah Health Danville.
The driver of the other vehicle, 56-year-old Linda Larue Carter of Danville, was also transported to the emergency room, where she later died. In addition, a 6-year-old girl was securely fastened in her car seat. She was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
State Police say charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
