DANVILLE, Va., – A tree landed on some power lines in Danville Sunday evening, causing outages from Blairs to Danville. The tree fell on Eden Place, just off Arnett Boulevard, resulting power outages and fluctuations for hundreds of customers. The incident was reported about 6 p.m. Danville Utilities crews responded and  corrected the problem.

Danville firefighters had to shore up the wall of a home after a car crashed into an adjoining garage and became wedged in the doorway. It happened about 7:30 Sunday night at a home in the 100 block of Larchmont Way. No one was injured and the occupants were allowed to return to their home after firefighters braced a retaining wall. There’s no word charges against the driver, who also escaped injury.
