19-year-old Jontavious Logan of Danville died after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.

Officers were called to the apartment  complex at 1575 Richmond Blvd just before 7:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Police found a man lying on the sidewalk near the “K” building who had been shot.

Officers began first aid and CPR and Logan was transported to Sovah Health Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators and crime scene officers worked through the night collecting evidence and following leads.

At this point, no charges have been filed in the homicide.
