DANVILLE, Va. – A dog died after an electrical fire spread to two north Danville homes around 9 a.m. Monday.
According to the Danville Fire Department, the fire started at 126 East Thomas Street but spread to 130 East Thomas.
Crews responded to 130 East Thomas St. to a report of a house fire and discovered that flames had spread to a nearby residence
Neighbors told firefighters that 126 East Thomas was occupied. Officials began to search for victims while crews mounted an interior attack on both fires.
A dog died in the blaze but officials say the occupants of the home were out of town.
The Red Cross is assisting the residents with temporary housing,
